'Justice League' Secret Shooting Title & Surprise Producer Revealed

Earlier this week, we reported that Warner Bros.’ long-awaited Justice League Part 1 will finally begin production on April 11, with the studio already setting a November 17, 2017 release date. There had been rumors that the studio was so worried about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, that they may delay Justice League Part 1. But that doesn’t seem to be happening at all. Today we have a new report from Acting-Auditions, which teases the secret shooting title and also reveals the surprising presence of a new producer. There may be SPOILERS below, so read on at your own risk.

This casting report claims that the production’s secret working title is “Caveman,” so if you’re in London later this year, keep your eyes peeled for “Caveman” signs. Of course, most of the production will likely take place inside Warner Bros. Studios at Leavesden, so it isn’t known how much exterior photography will be needed. The casting report also reveals a surprise addition to the producing team. According to Acting-Auditions, Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller is producing alongside Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Doug Mitchell and Dan Lin.

After Mad Max: Fury Road became a huge hit at the box office, there were rumors this summer that George Miller was being asked to direct Man of Steel 2, but that was never confirmed. The filmmaker mentioned in previous interviews that he wants to direct a “smaller” movie before moving on to a Mad Max: Fury Road sequel. This is the first we’re hearing of George Miller producing this superhero movie, but it does make sense, since he does have quite a unique history with the Justice League

The filmmaker came very close to getting his own version of the DC superhero team in theaters back in 2007, a failed movie that is chronicled in the upcoming documentary Miller’s Justice League Mortal. All the main cast members were in place, and shooting was on the cusp of actually happening. But the Writers Guild strike of 2007 collapsed the project. Since that time, the script and concept art has leaked, giving fans an idea about what this may have looked like.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder and writer Chris Terrio are coming back to work on both Justice League Part 1 and Justice League Part 2, which were originally rumored to be shot back-to-back, but that isn’t happening anymore. Hopefully we’ll find out more about Justice League Part 1 after Batman v Superman hits theaters on March 25. What do you think about these new details? Chime in with your thoughts, and stay tuned for more details.

Justice League Part 1 comes to theaters November 17th, 2017.
